Tricia Sullivan

Tricia Sullivan is an American-born science-fiction writer who has lived in the United Kingdom since 1995. She won the Arthur C. Clarke Award in 1999 for Dreaming in Smoke, and was shortlisted again in 2004 for Maul, a novel intercutting an all-female shopping-mall gang war with a viral-weapons lab plot. Sullivan has also written fantasy under the pseudonym Valery Leith, and her long career spans hard science fiction, body horror, and genre-bending literary SF, including Lethe, Someone to Watch Over Me, and Occupy Me. Beyond writing, she has studied music and karate, interests that surface in the physicality of her prose and characters. Sullivan lives with her partner, martial artist Steve Morris, with whom she has three children.
