Victoria Forester

Victoria Forester is a Canadian-American novelist, screenwriter, and film director, born in 1974 in Clarksburg, Maryland, and raised on a farm in Ontario before graduating from the University of Toronto. Before turning to fiction, she wrote and directed short films and features including Circuit Breaker and Macon County Jail. Her debut novel, The Girl Who Could Fly (2008), follows a girl with the power of flight who is taken to a secretive government facility for gifted children; it won the Bank Street Best Children's Book of the Year and the Black Eyed Susan Award and was named a Booklist Editors' Choice title. She continued the story with The Boy Who Knew Everything and The Girl Who Fell Out of the Sky, and now lives in Los Angeles.
