Walter H. Hunt

Walter H. Hunt is an American science fiction author born in 1959 in Massachusetts. A graduate of Bowdoin College, he worked for years as a software engineer and technical writer, and began his gaming-industry writing career with role-playing game material for FASA, including work on the MechWarrior line, before turning to novels in the early 2000s. He is best known for the Dark Wing series, four novels of military space opera, and for his contributions to Eric Flint's alternate-history 1632 universe, including 1636: The Cardinal Virtues, 1636: The Atlantic Encounter, and the spin-off Arcane America opener Council of Fire. His stand-alone novel A Song in Stone draws on the history of Rosslyn Chapel and the Knights Templar. A Freemason with a lifelong interest in history and science fiction, Hunt lives in eastern Massachusetts.
