Wesley Chu

Wesley Chu is a Taiwanese-American author born in 1976 in Taipei, Taiwan. He debuted with the Tao trilogy, beginning with The Lives of Tao (2013), a science-fiction comedy about an ordinary man who becomes host to a symbiotic alien intelligence, which won him the Astounding Award for Best New Writer in 2015. His subsequent work includes the Time Salvager duology, the Io duology, and, in collaboration with Cassandra Clare, The Eldest Curses series set in the Shadowhunters universe, beginning with The Red Scrolls of Magic (2019), which debuted at number one on the New York Times bestseller list. His epic fantasy series The War Arts Saga, beginning with The Art of Prophecy (2022), returns to original secondary-world fantasy. Chu previously worked in banking, acting, and stunt performance before writing full time.
