William F. Wu

William F. Wu is an American science fiction, fantasy, and crime writer born in 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri. Of Chinese-American descent, he earned a doctorate in American Culture from the University of Michigan, where his research into the depiction of Chinese and Chinese-American characters in fiction later became the nonfiction study The Yellow Peril. Wu is best known within franchise fiction for contributing to Isaac Asimov's Robot City and Robots in Time series, including Cyborg and Perihelion, and for the short story that inspired a Twilight Zone episode, "Wong's Lost and Found Emporium." His short fiction has drawn Hugo, Nebula, and World Fantasy Award nominations, and he shared an Aurora Award for Best Related Work in English for the anthology The Dragon and the Stars. He has published more than seventy stories across science fiction, fantasy, and crime writing.
