InterWorld follows Joey Harker, an ordinary teenager who discovers he can walk between parallel Earths and is recruited into a band of alternate versions of himself defending the multiverse from two rival forces, one of magic and one of science, that want to conquer every reality. Michael Reaves developed the story with Neil Gaiman, and Reaves's daughter Mallory Reaves co-wrote the two sequels. It's a fast-moving, portal-hopping adventure aimed at younger readers rather than a slow-burn epic.
