LEGO Metaverse

Every world here begins the same way: as a heap of parts and a story telling them where to snap. These are the worlds LEGO builds when it isn't building sets — its narrative themes carried into print, each a self-contained realm with its own elements, its own heroes, its own war between order and ruin. The keystone is Bionicle, the deepest lore on the shelf: the island of Mata Nui, its six elemental Toa, the Kanohi masks that channel their power, and the shadowed Makuta who wants the island's light snuffed out — chronicled across dozens of volumes, most by Greg Farshtey, who did more than anyone to turn a toy line into a mythology. Beside it stands Ninjago, where student ninja spin the martial art of Spinjitzu against skeleton armies and serpent kings. The rest are parallel worlds, not one continuity: the animal tribes of Legends of Chima, the tech-knights of Nexo Knights, the rebuildable warriors of Hero Factory and Exo-Force, the sorcery of LEGO Elves, the young squires of Knights Academy — voiced by Ryder Windham, Kate Howard, Cathy Hapka, Julia March, and many hands besides. Pitched at young readers and built for momentum, these are brisk, elemental adventures: clear stakes, bright factions, lore that rewards the child who wants to know how every piece fits. Newcomers should pick a single world rather than the whole shelf. Start with Bionicle and read in publication order — Tale of the Toa opens the Chronicles, which run on into the Adventures and then the Legends. For lighter, funnier footing, begin with Ninjago instead.
