The Lucky Starr books, published under the pseudonym Paul French, are Isaac Asimov's juvenile science-fiction series following David "Lucky" Starr, an agent of an interplanetary Council of Science, as he and his sidekick Bigman Jones investigate crimes and conspiracies across the solar system — starting with a poisoned-food-shipment plot from Mars in the debut, David Starr: Space Ranger. Conceived partly as a science-fictional take on the Lone Ranger, the six-book series lets Asimov work real planetary science into old-fashioned adventure plots.
