Tress of the Emerald Sea follows Tress, a young woman from a small island in a sea of deadly spores, who sets out on a rescue voyage across a corner of Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere. It was written for Sanderson's 2022 Kickstarter campaign and released as one of his 'secret novels,' narrated by his recurring wanderer character Hoid, whom Sanderson later folded into a specific sub-series called Hoid's Travails. Lumar is the name of the world within the wider Cosmere where Tress's story takes place.
