Pendragon Cycle
Stephen R. Lawhead · 6 novels · 1987–2025
The Pendragon Cycle is a series of historical fantasies written by Stephen R. Lawhead that were inspired by the Arthurian legend. The cycle was originally planned as a four-book series, but the original publisher, Crossway Books, stopped after the first three books, resulting in an abrupt ending to Arthur and many unfinished stories and plotlines; thus, the first three books were called The Pendragon Trilogy. Planning to expand the trilogy, Lawhead later moved to a new publisher. Two additional books were added, Pendragon and Grail, which are set between earlier published portions of Arthur. Later, Lawhead wrote a sixth book, Avalon, taking place in the same world, centuries after the original books.
