Queen of Angels
Greg Bear · 3 novels · 1 novella · 1 short story · 1990–1997
Queen of Angels (1990) is Greg Bear's near-future thriller set in a Los Angeles where widespread psychological therapy has nearly ended violent crime, until a celebrated poet commits a gruesome murder; the investigation is told through a detective, a writer, and a scientist probing the killer's mind. Greg Bear continued the same continuity in the novella Heads and the direct sequel usually published as Slant (also titled /). Moving Mars is a separate Bear novel of Martian independence politics set in a nearby future era, unconnected to this continuity.
