Cujo

The Trentons have the kind of trouble money can't quite fix: Vic's advertising agency is collapsing over a cereal-box scandal just as he discovers his wife Donna has been having an affair with a drifter. Across town, in a decaying farmhouse, mechanic Joe Camber's mistreated Saint Bernard, Cujo, chases a rabbit into a cave and comes out with a bat bite no one notices. As Vic leaves town on business and Donna tries to repair her marriage, the dog's infection worsens, until an ordinary errand strands Donna and her son Tad alone with Cujo at the Cambers' isolated home. Set in Stephen King's recurring town of Castle Rock, Maine.
