Khatrene leaves her modern-day life behind her as she travels through the Sacred Pool, a watery gateway that takes her to the earthworld of Ennae. At each turn are real and imagined enemies including an ethereal and erotic shadow woman, an enigmatic tattooed man, even her beloved brother Mihale.
