Last Men in London

A companion piece to Last and First Men, narrated by one of humanity's final, telepathic descendants two billion years hence, who reaches back across time to inhabit the mind of Paul, a young Englishman living through the trauma of the First World War. Through Paul's eyes the future narrator studies the follies and fleeting nobility of early humanity, using his war experience as a lens on the species' whole troubled adolescence.
