Death, weary of the job, takes on a gawky teenage apprentice named Mort and heads off on a well-earned holiday, leaving the boy to escort souls to whatever comes next. When Mort can't bring himself to let a doomed princess die on schedule, he saves her instead, and discovers that changing one person's fate tears a widening hole in reality that only Death himself may be able to close. This graphic novel adapts Pratchett's own Discworld novel, illustrated by Graham Higgins.
