Ogres

Torquell, the headman's son, mingles with the outlaws in the woods, and when the Landlord (an ogre) visits/audits, he also mingles with them. This time the ogres bring their own meal, the meat that humans find hard to handle and impossible to eat. Torquell knows better, but still ends up in a fight with an ogre.
