When Jane Blundell is contaminated by vampire blood in her father's laboratory, he takes her to the Scottish highlands to search for a cure, where she meets with Callan Kilkenny, a self-hating vampire who also seeks a cure from Dr. Blundell, and the two vampires fall in passionate love; but others seek the doctor for their own reasons.
