Scratchman

Answering a rural policeman's plea for help, the Fourth Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith, and Harry Sullivan arrive on a remote Scottish island where scarecrows are killing the locals — the vanguard, it turns out, of a force styling itself Scratchman, an entity that wants to erase reality itself rather than merely conquer it. Tom Baker wrote the original film script with Ian Marter in the 1970s; James Goss helps him finally finish it as a novel decades later.
