Stories from the Twilight Zone

Rod Serling · 1960collection

More like this

Rod Serling took a handful of his own teleplays from the first season of The Twilight Zone and rewrote them as short prose fiction, gathering the results into this collection -- including the show's very first episode, 'Where Is Everybody?', reworked from script to story. Rather than simply transcribing dialogue, Serling adapts each piece to the page, giving the reader interior access to characters the television audience only watched from outside. It stands as an early example of a TV writer translating his own anthology series into another medium, before tie-in novelizations became a genre unto themselves. The first of several Twilight Zone story collections Serling published.
