That Hideous Strength

After the end of WWII, an English college professor is invited to join a scientific research institute and think tank (which happens to be built on Merlin's grave); he discovers that the institute is really a front for an organization trying to empower themselves by bringing back the evil Satanic extraterrestrials who used to rule Earth, but with the aid of his wife, along with steadfast Christian friends and companions she acquires and Merlin, the embodiment of ancient English virtue, he is able to resist temptation and assist the angelic extraterrestrials who guard Earth in thwarting the evil plan.
