The life story of a clearly-thinking young architect Howard Roark who refuses to submit his personal vision to the society's unjust pressures and pander to prejudices of the masses or tastes of the rich, even blowing up his building after the plans are compromised, but finally triumphant. A kind of precursor of Atlas Shrugged, without overtly science fictional elements.
