In the 26th century, after 4 centuries of peaceful and enlightened socialist government, Avis Everheard's diary is found. Avis was the wife of Ernest, and they together lead the revolution that from 1912 to 1932 tried to overturn the Iron Heel, a fascist dictatorship oppressing America.
