"The Vertical Smile" focuses on money and power plus a great deal of heavy-handed satire about the sexual revolution and the youth revolution of the late 1960s and early 1970s, all set in a semi-dysfunctional New York City in which armed gangs control the streets and a church of Christ, Computer is an important part of society.
