Warbreaker

Sisters Siri and Vivenna are both dispatched from Idris to the court of Hallandren, ruled by an undying, color-drenched God King, where BioChromatic magic can breathe life into cloth, animals, and corpses alike. Siri, sent by accident in her sister's place, must survive marriage to a god she doesn't understand, while Vivenna, trained her whole life for a role no longer hers, has to find out who she is without it. Meanwhile the mercenary Vasher and his sentient sword Nightblood chase a plot that could burn the kingdom down.
