Lara Jansen, having crossed from Earth into the Faerie world of the Barrow-lands, is armed with a malevolent staff which seeks to bend her to its dark will. She is sure of only one thing, her love for Dafydd ap Caerwyn, a Faerie prince whom she helped in solving a royal murder. Now Dafydd is missing--or even dead--as the Barrow-lands move closer and closer to a conflagration, and Lara must harness the perilous magic of the staff and blaze a path to the truth--a truth with the power to save, or destroy, the Barrow-lands.
