Andrew Rowe is an American author of progression fantasy and LitRPG, a subgenre in which characters' magical growth is tracked through explicit skill and power systems. He is best known for the Arcane Ascension series, beginning with Sufficiently Advanced Magic, which follows a young mage navigating a school built into a titanic magical tower; the series is frequently cited alongside Will Wight's Cradle as a defining influence on the modern progression-fantasy boom. Rowe has expanded his Fantasia setting through the Weapons and Wielders and Lost Edge companion series, the standalone Shattered Legacy novels such as Forging Divinity and Defying Destiny, and lighter serialized fiction including How to Defeat a Demon King in Ten Easy Steps.
