Dafydd ab Hugh

Dafydd ab Hugh, born David M. Friedman in Los Angeles in 1960 and active from 1989 until his death in 2026, was an American science-fiction author best known for his tie-in fiction. With Brad Linaweaver, he co-wrote four novels adapting the video game Doom, including Knee-Deep in the Dead and Hell on Earth, and he wrote extensively for the Star Trek franchise, contributing five Deep Space Nine novels, among them Fallen Heroes, The Final Fury, and Endgame, alongside entries for The Next Generation and Voyager. His original fiction included the Jiana sword-and-sorcery duology and the two-book Arthur War Lord series. A novelette he published in 1990 earned a Nebula Award nomination, and several of his books appeared on USA Today's bestseller lists during the 1990s.
