J. S. Morin

J. S. Morin is an American science fiction and fantasy author, born in 1977 and raised in New Hampshire before relocating to California; he moved from a career in engineering into full-time writing. He is best known for the Black Ocean series, a long-running space-fantasy saga following the crew of a smuggling ship across spin-off arcs including Mercy for Hire and Mirth & Mayhem, as well as the Robot Geneticists / Project Transhuman science fiction novels. Morin also writes LitRPG under the pen name Xavier P. Hunter, notably the Pixelate and Metagamer Chronicles series. Citing influences such as R. A. Salvatore and Terry Pratchett, he favors found-family casts, humor, and world-building that mixes technology with old-fashioned wizardry. He is a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America.
