Patricia Briggs

Patricia Briggs (born 1965) is an American fantasy author best known for the Mercy Thompson series, launched with Moon Called (2006), which follows a car-mechanic shapeshifter navigating a hidden world of werewolves, vampires, and fae in the Pacific Northwest. She writes a parallel series, Alpha and Omega, following werewolf pack members Anna Latham and Charles Cornick within the same world on an earlier timeline. Briggs published her first novel, Masques, in 1993, and went on to write the Sianim and Hurog fantasy series before turning to the urban fantasy for which she is now best known. Several Mercy Thompson novels have reached the New York Times bestseller list, with Silver Borne debuting at number one on the hardcover fiction list. She has also written comics and short fiction set in the same world.
