Dragon Bones

Wardwick of Hurog (dragon), heir to the Hurogmeten (dragon guardian) was born the first magically gifted child in his family in over 600 years. His father threatened by Ward beat him as a child until his magic broke and the boy suffered a stroke. Now nineteen summers old, Ward has learned to overcome his broken magic, his slow speech and even his immense size and has developed, in defense against his father's abuse, the reputation as a simple-minded giant. But now his father is dead and machinations from the High King down to (possibly) his own uncle and cousins has forced Ward to flee in an attempt to prove himself worthy of his title, and his life... for if he fails, he may be incarcerated in the High King's Asylum for the remainder of his life.
