Paul Kane is an English writer born in 1973 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, who has worked across horror, dark fantasy, and science fiction since the late 1990s. He holds a BA and MA from Sheffield Hallam University and began his career writing articles and reviews before turning to fiction in 1998. He is best known for the post-apocalyptic Hooded Man series, beginning with Arrowhead, which reworks the Robin Hood legend after a global pandemic, and for editing anthologies such as the Terror Tales series and Hellbound Hearts. Kane has also written widely about the Hellraiser films and produced Sherlock Holmes fiction, including Sherlock Holmes and the Servants of Hell. A former lecturer in art and creative writing and past Special Publications Editor for the British Fantasy Society, he is married to fellow writer and editor Marie O'Regan, with whom he frequently collaborates.
