Richard Lee Byers

Richard Lee Byers is an American author of fantasy and horror novels, born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1950. He holds a master's degree in psychology and worked for over a decade in an emergency psychiatric facility before turning to writing full time; he has also taught fiction writing at Hillsborough Community College and lives in the Tampa Bay area. Byers has written more than forty novels, including many set in the Forgotten Realms, among them the Year of Rogue Dragons trilogy, the Brotherhood of the Griffon series, and the Haunted Lands trilogy, alongside stand-alone dark fantasy such as The Vampire's Apprentice and Forbidden. He has also written for Marvel's tie-in fiction line and the comic series Simon Vector, and is a fencing and poker enthusiast.
