Robert Thurston

Robert Thurston (1936-2021) was an American science-fiction writer born in Lockport, New York. A U.S. Army veteran with a graduate degree in English from the University at Buffalo, he attended the pioneering 1968 Clarion Workshop, where he won first prize for the short story "Set of Wheels." He is best known for novelizing eight installments of the television series Battlestar Galactica between 1978 and 1988, co-credited with series creator Glen A. Larson, and for the Legend of the Jade Phoenix trilogy set in the BattleTech universe's Clan Jade Falcon culture. He also contributed to Isaac Asimov's Robot City: Robots and Aliens series. Later in life, Thurston coordinated supplemental academic instruction at New Jersey City University.
