Series
Emberverse II
S. M. Stirling · 7 novels · 1 novelette · 2007–2013
S. M. Stirling's second Emberverse arc picks up a generation after the original Dies the Fire trilogy's "Change" - an unexplained event that permanently disabled electricity, gunpowder, and combustion engines - following the grown children of that trilogy's protagonists on a journey across a transformed North America toward Nantucket, the epicenter of the Change. The Sunrise Lands and its sequels widen the post-apocalyptic setting's low-tech factions and warring successor societies into a continent-spanning conflict. It continues the original series' blend of survivalist worldbuilding with mystical, quasi-legendary undertones.
