Grydscaen

The city runs on tiers, and the tier you are born into is the ceiling you die under. Grydscaen is a near-future cyberpunk dystopia of glass towers and gutter districts, of surveillance woven into every wall and a government that reads dissent as a system fault to be patched. Into that machine walk hackers, street kids, and operatives whose minds carry more than data — and the state fears nothing so much as a thought it cannot log. Natsuya Uesugi builds the world across a single connected body of work: the core Grydscaen novels, a run of short fiction that fills the alleys between them, The Prophet Trilogy, the mind-diving arc Psycho Dive, and a manga line that renders the same streets in ink. The thread running through all of it is a young, coded-out underclass pushing against power — with queer and neurodivergent characters at the center rather than the margins. The register is neon-noir and politically charged: less chrome-and-guns spectacle than a story about who gets erased.
