Skaith
Leigh Brackett · 3 novels · 1 short story · 1974–1976
Leigh Brackett's Skaith trilogy (The Ginger Star, The Hounds of Skaith, The Reavers of Skaith) brought her longtime hero Eric John Stark — an Earthman raised by aboriginal Mercurians, prone to reverting to a feral "man without a tribe" under pressure — to a new setting after the Mariner probes made her old Mars and Venus untenable as adventure backdrops. Skaith blends her trademark planetary-romance swordplay with a colder, more overtly fantastical dying world, and the trilogy was later collected as The Book of Skaith.
