The Door Through Space was Marion Zimmer Bradley's 1961 debut novel, expanded from an earlier short story, "Bird of Prey," first published in Venture magazine in 1957. Ace Books released it in a back-to-back tête-bêche edition, paired with a novel by A. Bertram Chandler, a format publishers used to sell two adventure stories in one cheap volume. It came early in a career that would go on to include her much longer-running Darkover series.
