Eragon

On his family's farm at the edge of the Spine, fifteen-year-old Eragon finds a polished blue stone while out hunting, and watches it hatch into a dragon he names Saphira, forging a bond neither of them can undo. When soldiers of the tyrant King Galbatorix come looking for the dragon, Eragon loses everything he has left and flees with only Saphira and a mysterious old storyteller, Brom, who knows far more about dragons, swordplay and the ancient Riders than any village elder should.
