Miskatonic astronomer Norman Withers is still trying to salvage his reputation after colleagues dismissed his claim of watching six stars vanish from the sky. When visiting physicist Claus Schmidt asks for his help testing an experiment that echoes those disappearances, Withers agrees, and the two men are pulled into the void between worlds, hunted by whatever answered the call.
