Mercenary's March

Set in the Schooled in Magic universe, this one follows Crown Prince Hadrian of Kentigern, whose kingdom fell to a necromancer fifteen years ago and whose people have lived in exile ever since. With the Necromantic Wars finally over, Hadrian raises an army of mercenaries armed with the latest magitech to reclaim his home, alongside fortune-hunter Sir James and refugees Robin and Eliza, only to find the ruined kingdom hiding something darker than the necromancer who took it.
