Once Upon a Planet

Returning to the amusement-park world from an earlier shore leave, the crew finds its caretaker computer bitter about decades of service, kidnapping Uhura and conjuring McCoy's worst storybook nightmares to get their attention. Spock fakes an injury to be carried inside the machine's core so Kirk can talk it down the way he once cajoled other rogue computers — not with an override, but by convincing it that hosting guests again beats sulking underground alone.
