Quarter Share

Young (18-yo) Ishmael Horatio Wang ("Call me Ishmael"), orphaned by the accidental death of his mother, signs on board the Solar Clipper (frieghter) Lois McKendrick and starts to find a new home there. A coming-of-age story, recalling Dana's Two Years Before the Mast. As a new crew member, Wang has a "Quarter Share" post, but plans to rise to Half Share, Full Share, and Double Share in time.
