This was the second story featuring Jim diGriz, AKA the Stainless Steel Rat. It was later incorporated into the novel The Stainless Steel Rat. Approximately one page was added at the beginning in the book version, and most of the first column of p. 74 was deleted. The last two paragraphs of the novelette were altered.
