The good news: Prince Abderian's troubles are over. The King's crown - which the prince did not want - rests safely on the head of his brother. The Cursemark of Sagamore has abruptly disappeared from his forearm. And his beloved Maja will soon give birth to their child. The bad news: The world will end in two weeks. A half-human, half-demon infant now bears the Cursemark, which controls the destiny of the kingdom. Abderian must find the child and remove the Mark - before she innocently destroys both demon-realm and human-world. Fear not, for the prince is not completely alone in his quest: He is aided by a powerless wizard, a wisecracking skeleton, and a magic sword good for not much more than parlor tricks. What could possibly go wrong? (from the back cover of the Ace Books first edition)
