They fled Earth to keep their faith, and inherited a galaxy that would not let them keep the peace. The Terran Diaspora is the military science fiction universe of Daniel Gibbs and a company of co-authors: the long war of the Terran Coalition, a federation of refugee worlds settled by those who ran from the tyranny that swallowed humanity's cradle, now locked against the League of Sol — an atheist superstate resolved to bring every free world to heel. The battle line runs through seven series and the anthologies that fill the silences between them. It opens with Echoes of War, in which David Cohen trades a rabbinical seminary for a fighter cockpit and rises to command the carrier CSV Lion of Judah. Around that spine turn Battlegroup Z, a squadron pilot's war; Breach of Faith and Deception Fleet, extraction runs and postwar intelligence aboard grittier, lonelier hulls; The Lost Warship, a crew flung clean beyond the Milky Way; and Galaxy Bridge, which opens the star maps to new alien powers. Steve Rzasa, Gary T. Stevens, Christopher D. Schmitz, Joel Steudler and others crew the shared decks and the Tales from the Coalition Defense Force collections. This is character-driven military SF that wears its convictions plainly: faith, duty, and the cost of a line drawn in vacuum, told in the cadence of naval command — bridge chatter, hard calls, and the butcher's bill all counted. Newcomers ship out with Echoes of War, book one, Fight the Good Fight, and follow Cohen's arc from there; the later series can each be boarded on their own once you know the war that binds them.
