The recruiters don't ask whether you want the war. This is the Seppukarian Universe: military science fiction in which humanity is muscle in a galactic conflict older and larger than any single soldier, where the only currency that counts is who's still standing when the drop is over. It's built as a shared battlefield rather than one campaign — a cluster of series from several hands, anchored by Justin Sloan's Syndicate Wars, the spine everything else hangs from. Around it march War Wolves, Shadow Corps, Mech Command, and the later Syndicate Legacy, each tracking its own unit through its own theater: augmented special forces, walker crews, green recruits hammered into something lethal. Contributors including Jonathan Yanez, George S. Mahaffey Jr., Kyle Noe, and L. O. Addison thread their squads through a common war. Expect the register of boots-on-the-ground SF: fast deployments, hardware you can feel in your teeth, gallows humor between firefights, and loyalty tested harder than any armor plate. Brotherhood carries as much weight here as the ordnance does.
