Beren and Lúthien is a 2017 compilation of multiple versions of the epic fantasy story about Lúthien and Beren by J. R. R. Tolkien, one of his earliest tales of Middle-earth. The story is one of three "Great Tales" set in the First Age of Tolkien's Middle-earth, about 6,500 years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The other two Great Tales are The Children of Húrin and The Fall of Gondolin. All three are briefly summarised in the 1977 book The Silmarillion.
