Crossfire

Riker's assignment to the Starfleet Academy Band starts as a headache, hazing rituals bad enough that he nearly quits, until a gig on the resort world Pacifica turns into something far more dangerous. An alien warship diverts the cadets to the war-torn planet Elofim to entertain troops there, and Riker and his new friend Geordi La Forge end up worrying less about the band than about getting off Elofim alive.
