Victor Milán

Victor Milan (1954-2018) was an American science-fiction and fantasy writer born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His fiction often explored libertarian themes and cybernetics, as in The Cybernetic Samurai (1985), which won the Prometheus Award. He was a longtime contributor to the shared-world Wild Cards superhero anthology series and, under his own name, wrote the epic fantasy Dinosaur Lords trilogy, blending medieval-style warfare with dinosaurs as war-beasts and mounts. Milan also wrote extensively under house names and pseudonyms, including James Axler for the Deathlands and Outlanders series and Alex Archer for Rogue Angel, and contributed novels to the BattleTech and Star Trek tie-in lines, publishing nearly a hundred novels in total. He was also known as a longtime masquerade emcee at the Archon science-fiction convention.
