Chronicles of the Borderlands gathers the Bordertown shared-world anthology series created by Terri Windling, beginning with the original Borderland/Bordertown anthology (1986) and continuing through further volumes contributed by many fantasy and SF writers, including Emma Bull, Charles de Lint, Ellen Kushner, Will Shetterly and Patricia A. McKillip. It is set in Bordertown, a decaying city on the border between the human World and the Elflands, where magic and technology both malfunction unpredictably. Stories follow different runaways, musicians and misfits who wash up there rather than one continuing cast or plot.
